Diving at The Little Mermaid
– Martinique (0-35m)
It is a great place for diving enthusiasts at different times of the day. The exceptional light offers almost 3 different dive sites in one.
What is the Little Mermaid in Martinique?
The Little Mermaid is first of all a very nice coral plateau, located between 3 and 15 meters deep. The start is along this coral garden, followed by a nice fringe of reef, then a drop off, faults rich in schools of fish and a small tunnel, all in one dive: what a course!
The spot is very luminous and almost an open air aquarium, as we come across a variety of species, from the emblematic turtles of course, but also schools of lippus, pike-perch, gorettes or antennae.
What level to dive at the Little Mermaid?
Not only does the Little Mermaid site offer an incredible and varied course in one, but it is also accessible to all levels of divers, whether PADI or EPF. Ideal, isn’t it?

And each anemone has its own species of shrimp: the Yucatan shrimp with its white spots on its orange body, the electric blue Pederson shrimp or the Thor shrimp which are the smallest.
And what a pleasure it is to have a manicure with a few Pederson shrimp!
Did you know that? In addition to these shrimps, under each anemone you have a small crab that lives well protected.
Our afternoon dive between 14:00 and 16:00 allows us to take advantage of a more subdued light. The site is also well exposed to the west and we enjoy the slow descent of the sun. It is perhaps at this time of the day that we are most aware of the richness of colour of this reef!

Our Alpha Plongée centre is located on the beach of Grande Anse d’Arlet, about 200m to the right of the pontoon, looking out to sea. We are in the middle of the pedestrian street that runs along the seafront, between the restaurants “Bidjoul” and “Les Arcades”.
If you decide to join us by car, you can park in the large car park which overlooks the road opposite the grocery shop. It is indicated by a large blue sign. To find us, you just have to cross the road and slip between two rows of houses.
